Tony Bennett is best known as a pop and jazz singer and he sadly passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 96 years old. He started singing at an early age before signing with Columbia Records in the early 1950s. He was successful after releasing several hit songs, including “Because of You” and “Rags to Riches.” He’s also known for songs like “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and “Smile.
Throughout his impressive career, he’s won 19 Grammy Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, and two Emmy Awards. He’s also sold over 50 million records worldwide. He continued to release music and perform throughout the 1990s and 2000s, including duets with Lady Gaga, but slowed down when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016.
