Canadian singer The Weeknd, known for his philanthropy, continues his support for Gaza by pledging an additional $2 million through his XO Humanitarian Fund. This generous donation will provide over 1,500 metric tons of fortified wheat flour, sustaining more than 157,000 Palestinians for a month. The Weeknd’s commitment to combating global hunger is evident through his ongoing partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). In December, he donated $2.5 million to WFP, funding 820 tons of food parcels that aided over 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks. As a Goodwill Ambassador since October 2021, The Weeknd has actively championed WFP’s mission, raising a total of $6.5 million for his XO fund. Notably, $4.5 million has been allocated to Gaza operations, while $2 million supports emergency food assistance for women and children in Ethiopia. The Weeknd’s consistent efforts underscore his dedication to making a meaningful impact on global hunger relief initiatives.
